Past Continuous Tense

 



Learn about Past Continuous Tense. Past Tense is used to describe actions or events that have already happened in the past. Regular verbs typically form the past tense by adding “-ed” to the base form of the verb. Irregular verbs have different past tense forms. Past Continuous Tense is a verb tense used to describe events or actions that were happening or in progress at a specific point in the past. Past Continuous Tense is called Past Progressive Tense and it is formed by using past tense of the verb “ to be”(either “was” or “were”) and adding present participle form of the main verb ( the base verb + “-ing”).
