Regular verbs typically form the past tense by adding “-ed” to the base form of the verb. Irregular verbs have different past tense forms. Past Continuous Tense is a verb tense used to describe events or actions that were happening or in progress at a specific point in the past. Past Continuous Tense is called Past Progressive Tense and it is formed by using past tense of the verb “ to be”(either “was” or “were”) and adding present participle form of the main verb ( the base verb + “-ing”).
